FNB Art Joburg is Africa’s leading and longest-running contemporary art fair and returns for its sixteenth (16th) edition in just a few weeks. South African Tourism has just received approval to host a small, group press trip around this event and is reaching out to gauge your interest in participating. The press trip will take place from 5-16 September 2023. While the itinerary is still in development, one of the key focus areas will be FNB Art Joburg where the group will experience the best in contemporary African art. Following the art fair, the delegation will travel to Cape Town to immerse themselves in several other exciting tourism offerings that demonstrate exceptional value for money and showcase our vibrant culture. To participate in this trip, all members of the media must have, and present, a US or CAN passport (valid at least 6 months from the time of arrival, with at least 2 blank “visa” pages facing each other to allow for the entry and departure stamps. Journalists must also have their own travel insurance. Additionally, priority will be given to media that have confirmed assignments. South African Tourism will cover the following expenses: economy-class flights to and from your closest US/ CAN gateway to South Africa, lodging/ accommodation/ transportation within the destination and group meals. Any expense incurred outside of these will be for your own account.
